EVENT INFORMATION
The presentation will feature an update on federal transportation policy issues and legislation of interest to the engineering industry, including:
- The rewrite of highway and transit programs under SAFETEA-LU
- Reauthorization of aviation programs and airport funding
- High speed and intercity passenger rail initiatives
- The pending jobs bill and other transportation infrastructure legislation
The presentation will also preview the upcoming overhaul of federal regulations governing consultant services on highway projects, and give an update on the progress of implementing the new Uniform Audit and Accounting Guide by FHWA and State DOTs.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Matt Reiffer is the Director of Transportation Programs at ACEC. He is the primary lobbyist on all federal transportation issues, including the surface transportation authorization bill, aviation, rail and transit matters. Prior to joining ACEC, Matt served for 6 years as the Legislative Director and Counsel for Congressman Vern Ehlers of Michigan, a senior member of the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee. Matt received his undergraduate degree from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and his law degree from the University of Notre Dame.
